Another excerpt from this month's [200 OK] newsletter...

So someone forwarded us this photo of what appears to be a mid-1950s idea of what a "home computer" might look like in 2004:



We thought it was interesting and came up with the clever caption of "if anyone can tell us what the steering wheel is for, please let us know." Well, sure enough, they did! Apparently the photo was a Photoshop hoax based on a Smithsonian Museum exhibit of the inside of an actual 1950s submarine:



And the moral of the story is, never, ever believe anything you read on the Internet without first checking Snopes.com:
